Welcome to Alexandria...

Thanks for coming to this little hole in the wall sandbox! Everything you might need to know is here but we'll add a comment below if any other questions come up!

This is a very make your own story sandbox. While there might be some gamewide plots eventually, they'll happen in such a way that the most hyper responsible character isn't gifted with plausible deniability. Think of it this way. Think what if Batman had to deal with the Joker while the Justice League was dealing with an invasion of aliens before they reached Earth. Batman won't have to worry about those aliens in this case because Wonder Woman and Superman got this and he's got his own troubles right now.

It's okay if your character is doing their own thing, because the Library has people who have got this. But that doesn't mean they won't turn down the help when those situations arise, especially if those situations are threats from your home universe.

Character Name: Yondu Udonta (CRAU)

Character Questions:
Tell us about your character?: Yondu Udonta is a former Kree Battle slave who was recruited into the space biker pirate lifestyle as soon as he was freed. He fucked up that happy life though and his clan was rejected.

After having been on the VT Express he rebuilt a found family and a new 'team', but has unfortunately lost most of them again. This has put him back in a grumpier place.

What has your character been up to on-screen?: N/A
What has your character been up to off-screen?: He showed up in the library after getting booted out of the universe yet again. He's been doing missions for the library, but also has a minor side-hustle of procuring booze during those missions.
What plans or ambitions does your character have?: Right now he wants to earn money and form a new Ravager clan in a whole other universe. Step one is buying a ship. Step two is picking the universe. Right now he has no intention to form those longstanding bonds again because he thinks he'll lose them. (Plus, there are less kids around so he has no reason to not be mostly business).

I type this knowing he has every intention to find an excuse to go on a rescue mission for his old pal V. He's found the perfect way to convince people that V alive will be a greater benefit to the universe as a whole than V dead (mostly using his success record with the one VT mission he worked with V on, and his plans to help him develop medical technology).
Does your character need help with their plans (or need them thwarted after a point)?: Help him out with his rescue mission. It's in the Cyberpunk universe which I know very little about but Coop is a champion and is helping me out. He'll want to recruit a cybernetically/technologically inclined team to help him. I'd also kind of like people to drop hints they'd seen his friends around in some conversations with him. Like if someone saw Kyoko or someone.

Hank Anderson

Character Name: Hank Anderson (AU)

Character Questions:
Tell us about your character?: This Hank is a modern-day Hank, not a future Hank. Vampires weren't well known, but he did know (under oath of secrecy) because he stumbled across conspiracies during his 'red ice' investigations for the Detroit PD. Red ice in this AU is basically meth made with vampire blood. They hadn't known at the time where the drug came from, but a monster-hunting organization clued him in.

His son Cole was injured in a car accident and taken to the hospital. The Doctor, having taken too much red iceended up killing him on the operating table. This caused Hank to downwardly spiral. When the monster hunters asked him if he'd willingly become a monster to help them hunt other monsters? He was down. Even after they informed him when he experienced "soul rot" they would have to kill him, he agreed.

(n) what happens when a monster starts engaging in more instinctual and predatory behaviors than rational ones. being less human and more monster-like.

Eventually, they partnered him up with a specially trained young man forced to become a vampire, Connor, and he realized how much bullshit was going on behind the scenes.

Hank, as his particular type of 'Wallachian' wolf strain, can heal especially fast and is extremely "claw through a sturdy wooden door" strong. But he craves the bodies of the dead and requires a lot of meat to replenish his energy after he's had to heal from something serious or hold the werewolf form for a while. He's deathly weak to silver.

Do you need help having your character arrive?: Maybe? I'm willing to talk this one out. He's now more at ease with what he is and could be convinced to come along, especially if people come after holy relics unique to his world. In his universe, a collection is being kept by Dracula because Sun Wukong needed someone to watch the Sutra and, like he does with many demons, beat him into behaving himself. So given that there are holy relics there that the Library would be willing to watch over even more safely, it'd be easy to get someone to visit that universe for something if they were down.

Character Name: Seto Kaiba (Yu-Gi-Oh, void train CRAU)

Character Questions:
Tell us about your character?: Canon-wise, Kaiba is an obsessive competitive card game player and tech CEO who can't let things go when he feels slighted. Cares about nothing but his brother. Basically he's a cross between Elon Musk and Walt Disney...jerkwad businessman, soft spot for children and entertainer with a big theme park named after himself...but he actually knows his stuff tech-wise.

Over his CRAU, he softened his heart and opened up to others, bonding through playing games and building tech for a more noble goal...but as things grew more serious and he lost more and more people he was attached to, he grew bitter and hopeless. He's left his husband behind now, so it's about 100x worse.

Do you need help having your character arrive?: Not so much. He's decided the universe hates him, so...this is happening. It's fine. Not fine. He'll work on salvages and such, it's something to do until he figures out where to go.

What has your character been up to on screen?: N/a
What has your character been up to off-screen?: Offer his skillset (he's a skilled pilot, engineer, and mechanic) and work. Conditions aren't great, but it's all he's got.

What plans or ambitions does your character have?: ...I don't think building a time machine to travel back and fix the disaster state he left his home life in is happening any time soon, so...nothing, really. Work nonstop, try to keep emotions at bay.
Does your character need help with their plans (or need them thwarted after a point)?: He'll need to eventually get out of his own head and get his hope back...a few familiar faces passing by will remind him of who he used to be, thankfully. He's a lot worse at saying no to requests for help than he used to be, so...it shouldn't take too much doing to get him going.

Yondu might have a deeper conversation with him over stuff. (I am planning on putting up a post soon anyway). Eventually I'm planning on doing Entrapta too.

Game related aside if you're interested in setting assumptions: As this is the Andromeda universe and Nietzscheans form a founding population, there are probably parts of the city that thrive off games. Warnings for 90s prime time level nsfw and video quality that only even aspires to be potato, but here is a Nietzschean character talking about competition.

The guy narrating in that clip was one of the founders, and even having gone through a redemption arc his brand of Nietzscheans will always value competition as an increasingly high standard to hold themselves to and strive for constant improvement. So depending on how much you want that kind of thing, Kaiba might end up with his competitive side riled up.

Eventually, I think Jack could seriously start to respect Kaiba? At least enough not to insult him too badly anymore. Y'know, cause of the whole CEO thing they have in common.

Tell us about your character?: A Night City native, his poor man has had the worst luck since the day he was born. The ultimate tl;dr is that V's never had a relationship that's lasted because people either leave him or die. He does drugs and drinks to numb out the feelings and if he feels that relationships are getting too personal he will do everything in his power to destroy those relationships. In general he's easy enough to get along with and tends to keep things professional. It's clear he has a good heart and wants to do the right thing but he doesn't shy away from doing what needs to be done and destroying anything that gets in his way. He's not VT CRAU because I enjoy hurting.

Do you need help having your character arrive?: Yeah, we're having a rescue mission set up and everything.

What plans or ambitions does your character have?: Not die in 6 months. :)
Does your character need help with their plans (or need them thwarted after a point)?: Probably will need help - he technically has the blueprints for the prototype biochip that fucked him over but he doesn't have the skillset to actually make it. He could probably work out the software bit with some help but manufacturing a biochip is not really something on this streetkid's list of skills.

Tell us about your character?: Another Night City native who's a lot less likely to trust any of you lot than V. She's functionally a mute - her talking is weak and hurts a lot - so she speaks primarily through sign language or charades. Where V's my software + computer engineer, she's my electrical engineer + mechanic. She's pretty distrusting and generally crabby but if you can convince her that something is worth her time she's more than willing to play ball. She is not interested in making friends or even having contacts but she recognizes that she can't do everything solo and tbh she'll be helpful if she thinks it will benefit her in some way (able to get parts she wants, being paid well, etc). Worth of note: she hates dogs.

I personally don't wish to split hairs with different kinds of sign languages so can we just pretend it's universal and you can say yes/no if you know it lmfao She technically has her Agent on her so she can technically do TTS there as well.

What has your character been up to on screen?: Nada.
What has your character been up to off-screen?: She's been helping with salvage missions but only in such a way that she can get parts to build a car. She can say she's not a nomad all she wants but deep down she is.

What plans or ambitions does your character have?: Right now she's trying to build a car so that's exciting. It's fun to salvage parts from random places. After that.... Who knows! She'll find another project most likely.
Does your character need help with their plans (or need them thwarted after a point)?: She will want help just in terms of going to worlds and salvaging but does she need help with the actual build or whatever? Not really, and it will require some CR for her to consider working with you on something like that.

Apparently not a very good priest because he got married to a fairy in this CRAU.

Barring that, maybe get blown up in a freak explosive rune accident and leave a giant hole in the street to inconvenience the tourists.

Fallen seraph, now a demon. His blood is made of drugs, breath is made of drugs, everything is drugs, it's super healthy. A catty, seemingly self centered drama queen who definitely has only the highest opinion of himself and definitely doesn't like anyone and definitely does not want or need friends because he is Not Nice. The actual worst. Definitely.

Just kidding, he's a mess with a lot of self-confidence issues aggressively masked behind overblown self-aggrandizement. He frequently tells on himself in every way possible and desperately craves validation. He's also the kind of person who would drink three thousand dollar vintage merlot out of a golden girl's mug he bought from a thrift store.

Right now I have three (3) idiots of varying flavors of: hard to get to know personally. I'm a sucker for people getting around those limits.

How can fellow players help or get involved?:
I mean it all depends on if your character(s) are interested in getting to know my idiots, right? But if anyone OOCly really wants that and isn't sure how to get there because all my characters have stupidly good evasion tactics, plot with me! I can always throw a wrench into their gearworks; provide a crack in the armor.

Koumyou blows people off / is aloof by default, without meaning to -- that's just how he's survived. The way to get to him is persistence, maybe even some prying. If he's left to set all the boundaries, he cranks them on up way past anything he actually cares about.

Tannusen holds people at a distance a bit more intentionally, or throws people off the scent by offering to sleep with them (which he'll totally do, with any sapient adult, if anyone wants to hand-wave that then go for it). The way to get to him is being smart enough to keep up with him until he decides you're actually a person. He's a cat, so that isn't his default view.

Amberdrake... is a therapist, in every sense of the word, and a Healer, and so everyone wants his talents and he is genuinely gobsmacked when anyone gives a shit about the guy with said talents. That's flat-out a canon quality that he never gets past. Just convince him he's more than his job/title to you and he'll be grateful.

Koumyou Sanzo

Character Name: Koumyou Sanzo, or Sanzo for short, he doesn't let anyone call him just Koumyou without his permission, because it's highly inappropriate.
It's like, one of the only rules of his job he actually follows.

Tell us about your character?:
A life-long monk, and a mostly former nihilist. Koumyou Sanzo loves to act the fool, and yet is disappointed sometimes by how easily it's believed. It's almost entirely a reflexive "live down to everyone's expectations" pattern that he developed fairly young and never shook off.

He's holier than holy, but smokes and drinks and has himself a fiance. He's also the moon, and wears the Light of All Creation on his shoulders with ease.

Do you need help having your character arrive?: Nah, as long as he gets to be with his people he's fine going anywhere.

Koumyou may or may not end up ICly over here right off the bat, it depends on how things wrap up for him over on VoidTreckers.

What plans or ambitions does your character have?:
Depending on who all is over here: he wants to reconnect with his son, help his fiance with his trauma, and teach his daughter the personhood that he himself sorely lacks and has always lacked.

Depends how things develop, but he's probably okay on the plans department. Join him for shenanigans instead.

How can fellow players help or get involved?: Toss me ideas, I'll be happy to try them out! Soldat is big on taking care of people, and will not like the whole "sometimes we have to abandon a world" thing, which could be an in for some CR.

Tell us about your character?: A formerly brainwashed assassin from the MCU, who has died and lived through two different panfandom games now (Into the Night, and VoidTreckers). They've disassociated all to hell in response to artificially induced amnesia, but they get along with themselves pretty well these days. They're technically a "they" because "it" was apparently offensive to their friends and also, well, headmates. Some of their former-game quirks include: carrying their soul in a battered WW2 lantern, chewing on things a lot, and cooking as stress relief. They go by Soldat but can stand to hear the name Bucky these days, even they don't prefer it, and they're big on taking care of people. Be prepared to be fed.

Do you need help having your character arrive?: If somebody wants to rescue them from a dying world, I'm game, but I can also just have them drop in somewhere!
What has your character been up to on screen?: Nothing yet! They're gonna be a brand new arrival shortly here.

Character Questions:
Tell us about your character?: Jack's an AI made from the brain scans of a megalomaniac CEO of the same name. He's from a futuristic grungy space setting where corporations are big enough to be taking over entire planets. Jack is kind of a massive jerk. TBF, he's been loaded up with all of the original trauma of Handsome Jack the flesh person and all of the coping mechanisms of the same. Which is to say, a lot and none.

Right now his body is a generic robotic one over which he projects his signature hard-light blue hologram.

What has your character been up to on screen?: Poking around to get enough info to feel slightly less paranoid about being new here.
What plans or ambitions does your character have?:

Jack's to do list:
1. Get back into SOME KIND of POWER. Feels bad being a regular schmuck.
2. Get better body. (Flesh? Maybe? Hell, I don't know.) Don't mind if its used or new.
3. Find people I can trust tolerate (?) whatever -- I need people. Can't do this shit alone.

Eventually, I'd like to have his body start breaking down because it was kind of provided by the Void Train which is very much no longer here sooooo... He'll need help at some point with fixing it or making/getting a new one.

Character Name: Connor (AU version)

Character Questions:
Tell us about your character?: RIGHT SO Connor's from an urban supernatural AU where he was raised to be an ELITE VAMPIRE HUNTER, but one day he was always going to be killed and given the blood of Dracula to be an ELITE VAMPIRE VAMPIRE HUNTER. That happened, and he got paired up with a certain werewolf who hated vampires.

Buddy cop vampire stuff along the line of the DBH game happened, but in the equivalent of the 'Hank kills a fake Connor' scene, he gets it wrong and stakes the real Connor.
(Time skip while Hank mourns, takes Connor's ashes half way across the world, which get stolen then used in some Fullmetal Alchemist-style equivalent exchange to resurrect him)

So Connor's a special snowflake vampire whose main powers, apart from the usual speed/strength combo, are being able to go out in sunlight (he does not sparkle) and read people's minds by drinking their blood. - Kyoko's going to need a new method of cleansing her Soul Gem -- Eventually, I wanna do some shit with Incubators finding Alexandria and trying to spread throughout the greater multiverse to collect more energy, thereby creating Witches for her to go hunt. But until then, she'll need a way to NOT witch out

- Zeta will be available for anyone's sci-fi technobabble bullshit needs, so he'll be a great plot supporter. Also a stealth candidate for found family shenanigans, because he's a lonely bastard underneath it all

- I'm thinking hard about adding my sunshiney Courier Six (Fallout: New Vegas) once things settle down iRL a bit. While she's the type to help out the Library because she likes helping on principle, I think it'd be cool if someone actually picks her up on a mission to the Mojave? Whether it's because the Mojave goes kablooey or because the mission runner(s) end up working together with this native on solving a problem or... whatever. Tell us about your character?: A tsundere tough-attitude magical girl with trauma she lugs around behind her in trash bags. Her brand of magical girl has significant downsides: It requires maintenance (a Soul Gem that needs purifying or else she runs out of magic and Becomes Monster) -- and, well, that whole "will Become Monster" thing. Even having too many emotions can quicken the Become Monster! What a shitty time to be a teenage girl, amirite?

In particular, she is from a canonical alternate timeline where things go a bit different than they do in the anime. She ultimately makes amends with her senpai and decides she wants to live to atone for her sins, and then... dies. Which is always fun!

She spent some time on the VoidTrecker Express, where she realized she had a crush on her senpai, decided against dying and instead actually (gasp) asked for help, and had an on-again, off-again relationship with the concept of working as a team. She also got herself an unofficial adoption with Yondu, including a sweet coat, and a special bracer made by AU Usagi that will help keep her Soul Gem from hatching into a Witch in case the worst should happen. (But I've also realized that this could horribly backfire, but that's a plot I want to hold off on pulling the trigger on for now.)

Unfortunately, she was relying on people on the train to purify her Soul Gem -- She needs item drops from Witches in order to purify it normally, or cross-canon power shenanigans. So now that she's here, she's going to need to find another solution.

What has your character been up to off-screen?: When I finally post with her, she'll be a fresh arrival to the Library, but... Off-screen, she'll do some slinking around the city getting her bearings, mostly. And being pissed about getting lost from the train while denying to herself that's what she's mad about. She's definitely defaulted back to her old survival habits of "steal habitation, steal food." And she's been snooping about investigating magic signals, especially anything pinging as remotely familiar.

What plans or ambitions does your character have?: Step one: Survive. Step two: ??? Step Three: Profit?

She's listless and more confused and scared than she's going to let on. She was starting to gain traction with these concepts called "purpose" and "belonging" back on the VoidTrain, and now her life's been turned upside down again. Frankly, she doesn't even know where to start. She'll honestly be happiest if she's given some kind of structure outside of "survive" again, and helping out the Library is a great place to start with that, once she gets pointed in that direction.

- Help point her towards working for the Library
- Help with that whole Not Become Monster thing

On that second point, there's no keeping Kyoko from dipping back home briefly to at least like, check in on things. And I think from there, the Incubators will either find out about the Library or hitch a ride over with her, and from there spread like the horrible little rats that they are. And then there will be magical girls all over the multiverses! And... Witches, too, because, yeah, that whole Become Monster thing. And that means Kyoko will be able to get Grief Seeds! But also... Incubators and Witches. Hm.

But yes, any other purification options would also be A++.

Tell us about your character?: Sasuke has a weird and long history that intertwines with the actual canon. He's been to many games both public and private and come quite a long ways from the angry, vengeful, and totally bonkers teenager he was. Calm, collected, with a slice of sarcasm. Can be a bit arrogant (been working on that one a lot, but), stubborn, obsessive, determined, headstrong. Extremely intelligent and observant. He has a sharp tongue when pushed past his patience. Sasuke feels everything incredibly deeply, and so he's often keeping himself in check but there are ways to really bring that back out.

For the most part, Sasuke's a wanderer capable of and often traversing from universe to universe and happening to find himself in the midst of some sort of crisis wherein he can lend aid and leave. It's earned him the title of Wandering Sage, as he often comes in, helps, and dips before anyone can thank him proper. Which is all a part of his never-ending search for repentance and purpose. He chose not to stay in Konoha and follow the trajectory of his character in the Boruto series mostly due to Character Development radically changing his opinions on his brother and what family means to him. He believes that his blood is cursed and has concluded that Uchiha ends with him.

Sasuke is comfortable being a lone wolf, but has and continues to make various allies across the universes. Some might call them friends (gasp). He also has some kind of bizarre and spotty relationship with Yuuko from XXXHolic and a soft spot for stupid blondes.

He loves to party, dance, and has all sorts of investments in various things that keep him busy (racing, piercing, occasionally being a guide for people who want to trip on shrooms or acid, and more lmao).
